As usual, Kenya is expected to send a strong team to Rio games and once again put her foot down and discredit her critics due to some issues with WADA ant-doping bill which has more than twice put KAAA in log head with WADA.

One of Kenya medal hopeful will be Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon in 1500m. Born on January 10th 1994, Kipyegon is the current Commonwealth Games champion which was held in Glasgow, Scotland in time of 4:08:94. She won the gold medal at the 2011 World Youth Championships in Athletics, and a gold medal the next year at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 1500 metres, but finished at position 9th in the 3rd heat and failed to qualify for the finals. She won the women's junior race in the World Cross Country Championships in 2013. She competed in the 2013 World Championships in Athletics and Came in 5th place in the final with a time of 4:05.08.

One of Kipyegon grory moment happened on September 11, 2015, at Diamond League finale in Brussels. The line-up included Sifa Hassan who has become a threat in this distance for some time now. Kipyegon sprinted in the finale stretch to win in a time of 4:16.71, while Sifa Hassan came in second 4:18.20

Looking what she did during the just concluded IAAF Diamond league in Shanghai, China, Kipyego will be a start attraction at Rio games with her current for and her bursting speed during the final lap will make the stadiums exerting.

She won in a time of 3:56:82, breaking her home national record of 3:56:98 as well as establishing a meeting record and the fastest time in the world outdoors this year. With Hellen Obiri, another Kenya star who is back from maternity leave, the 1500m looks explosive as both athletecs wants to bring that gold medal back to Kenya from the ever shining Ethiopians Dibaba.
