Hon Mike Sonko popularity cuts
across the whole of Nairobi
Sonko and Bishop Wanjiru are
the winning team Jubilee needs
Peter Kenneth went “Missing in
action” after Presidential defeat
US President Donald Trump attacked verbally
some media houses and journalists due to
what he called, improper reporting, this happened during his campaigns and
after his inauguration when he claimed that one TV channel showed there were
fewer people at Capitol Hill compared with President Obama inauguration,
“This
is pure lies”, President Trump Said.
Hon Mike Mbuvi Sonko |
Now, I am in a total dilemma if this is what happened on Sunday, 22/01/2017,
in one of the leading newspapers in Kenya the story was:-
“Jubilee Part has arrived on a formula on who will be in the race for Nairobi
governorship seat”
I read the story with loads of kin interest as I wanted to understand this
formula. Through the story I was disappointed after reading that Senator Mike
Sonko will be a running mate of Peter Kenneth.
I have nothing against Peter Kenneth, but I could not comprehend my
self-seeing him as the Governor, yet he was nowhere to be seen when we needed
him most, he also did a vigorous campaign with aim of spoiling central province
votes during 2013 general election.
It is an insult to ask Senator Sonko
to be a running mate, Senator Mike Sonko has a full movement behind him, a
movement that cuts across all Kenyan communities and asking him to be a running
mate is an abuse to this movement.
Sonko deeds are all written in white, his work in Nairobi is well known and
no one can doubt, he worked to a point the county government got worried as he
was offering services that the county government ought to be offering, it reached
a point the County Governor threated to take vehicles used by SONKO RESCUE TEAM,
and none other than Governor Evans Kidero issued the threat, and it was by
force.
As far I am concerned, I believe Mike Mbuvi Sonko will be the right person
to un-seat the current governor. So when I saw that arrangement, which by then
I thought were fact, I really felt let down by Jubilee Party.
Peter Kenneth |
Alas, come Monday, and at Sonko instagram page, I saw a very tight written
statement by Senator Mike Sonko himself denying agreeing to such agreement. This lifted my heart and once again knew we
are on the right truck.
I have nothing against Peter Kenneth; he is one among many great leaders
from central Kenya who is making good progress in politics, but I believe he
has a long way to recapture his lost fame after what happened in last general
election
That said, i do not know if the writer of the story is one among many said
by US President, or where did such information came from?
I believe for such story to be written, the journalist should have counter
checked with all concerned parties to hear their side, but going with one
source, it looks a casual.
Peter Kenneth should first try his luck at his back yard Muranga County; we all
know the good job he did there as member of parliament, before he spoiled
everything by being on the opposite side which was seen like wishing to send
Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto to doom at ICC.
Kenneth also decided to spoil central Kenya votes for Uhururo team; he was
seen like a Raira patronage that is out to spoil the votes, same as how Raphael
Tuju was perceived in Nyaza. But all the same both guys knew, it was through a big
miracle for them to win the presidential race.
On the other hand, Sonko was
travelling with the President or Deputy President all the way to The Hague, I
can recall an argument once he had with a police officer at the ICC court who
tried to stop Kenya delegation to say a word of prayer.
Am not saying Sonko should be given the ticket due ICC matter, which
actually can be used to determine who among them is a true friend to Uhuruto, but
Sonko has done wonders, from time he was Makadara Member of Parliament to
current position of Nairobi Senator.
Remember the old lady from Siaya County who was jailed due to some land
disputes, Sonko was touched by what happening to her and as a good leader he dispatched
SONKO RESCUE TEAM all the way to Siaya to help get her freedom back, and she
got it after Sonko paid the court fine.
Bishop Margeret Wanjiru |
Not that alone, but so many occasions Sonko rescue Team has being called to
actions, either helping transport loved once to their final resting place, or rescue child with a
bullet stuck in his head, a burning houses within Nairobi slums, just name them, yes…Sonko has being a shoulder
for many to lean on.
Nairobians need a leader who understands them, who knows all panya routes to
all slums, who has shown has ears and eyes when needed. Sonko has being able to
help even the rich class who found their properties being grabbed by powerful
cartel at city hall. Remember the Asian family that was almost going to lose their
plot at Langat, It was through Sonko intervention the matter was sorted out and
the family still enjoys their plot and house?
You wondering …….. Yes …, that is how Mike Mbuvi Sonko loves his people
For Jubilee to get Nairobi governor,
the party must be ready to get a candidature that that will be accepted by all communities
living in Nairobi County. The leader must be with a touch with all class of people,
but needs specific group from the so called slums to win the seat.
Remember what happened to Jimnah Mbaru, he lost even after being supported
by the business community and most of middle class Nairobians. Nairobi votes
are always with slums dwellers and remember this time around the election will
be held in August which means many people will be still in Nairobi. It is my
guess many guys from the slums have no idea who Peter Kenneth is, maybe with a
refresher talk, they can recall him as a Presidential candidature as the name sound
familiar , but have no idea where he went after losing the election.
He went missing in action till now.
Even for a running mate for Sonko, I would not go for Peter Kenneth; Bishop Margaret
Wanjiru will be a better team member.
That will be a winning team that will bring the governor seat to Jubilee
fold.
Hon Waweru,
my brother I know you had great dreams to be the next Nairobi
governor, but I think this is not the right time for you, I would please ask
you kindly to once again vie for the MP seat you are holding.
Hon Waweru |
Be careful not to lose that seat to the opposition due to a weak
candidature.
It is my wish that Jubilee Party will do the needy thing and handle Mike
Mbuvi Sonko the ticket to deliver the seat home.
