The Kenya IDPs Vs Masai Vs Government

Tilting their farms while armed.
The other day i was looking in a Kenyan local TV station that was ailing news about  Masai demonstrating about mau forest land allocation. The parcel of land in question is said to be owned by a certain powerful family whose father was a cabinet minister during the reign  of the founding father of this great nation called Kenya.
The Masai community claims that, when the decision to settle the internally displaced people of PEV of 2007, land was in a dispute of who actually owns it. On one side was the family of a former Minister in Kenyatta government and on the other side is the Masai community.

This land is in the now world famous forest, Mau forest, and to be sincere am a bit confused here. The people who the government wants to re-settle here were mostly those who came from Eldoret area during the PEV. Most of these people had their own farms, house and were living a normal live.
Eldoret was one area that business was known to do well and many people from different communities found themselves there working or employed.

Kikuyu community is known for its hard work ability to get money anywhere, any time and with any means.Due this factor, some of them found  Eldoret as a safe heaven and bought land. This has been their homes since then (depending on when once bought the land) and no one raised any query when this people were buying the lands.

I do not want to talk about land issue as its a very complicated matter that you cannot come out clear about it. What i do know is that every Kenya has a right to own any property he/she wishes to buy in any part of the republic. That's why you will find some areas with almost every tribe of Kenya living there, e.g Nakuru.
Mau Forest complex is an area of great importance to this great nation, Kenya and other countries within the region. That's why with all concerns, mau forest issue should not be politicised.

On top of this, this land that our fellow Kenyans (Masai), claims to be theirs should be looked well. We know that all land belongs to the Kenya Government and the Kenya government is government elected by Kenyan people for its people, thus all Kenyan land belongs to its people. So someone will ask, whats the meaning of the title deeds?. This are paper documents that are government proved for you to be leased with that parcel of land for some time. Its was borrowed from British way of land administration who were our master.

Our government has borrowed the land act from England and that why the title deed is a very important and vital documents when you have it.You can borrow a bank loan or secure yourself from court of law as a security bond.Every Kenyan knows that as long he/she has a title deed, he has a wealth that he can share with his/her family, that's why am a bit confused when i hear that the government is looking for an alternative land to settle the IDPs who had title deeds of their farms

Am just kindly asking, what about their farms in Eldoret, what happened ? I believe that, every person has a basic fundamental rights of being protected wherever he/she is,it does not matter which tribe he/she comes from security is a must for us all.

We do pay taxes so that the security organs will offer the required security to all of us, employed or none employed. The security of  citizen, is the paramount of any government. Thus i do not understand why the Kenya government is looking for an alternative land to settle people who had worked hard and bought their own land. People who had employed themselves and did not want any assistance from the government for their daily lives.

Why should a government buy another land for people who  had their own lands, it dose not make any sense at all.

The confrontations happening now between the Masai community and the government can somehow be legitimate on grounds that, the land in question was illegally acquired by its original owner and from the word go its was wrong. Well if that's is the case, the land should be returned to the government and not to the Masai. The former minister family should refund the money paid for it by the government, and blame their father who was so powerful and had acquired the land "illegally".

If the government can use force to resettle the IDPs, then why can't the same force be used to settle the IDPs back to their farms. Why should the government create  another problem yet the first one is not yet solved. What will happen to original farms, will the government take them over or some people have already allocated themselves.

I think its government mandate to make sure all IDPs are re-settled back into their farms and not on alternative farms. Re-settling them on alternative land means that there are some special communities than others, who can take other people farms prepare, plant and harvest and no one can ask a question. It beats all odds for same government to force another community to accommodate some people who had their legitimate lands which has been taken irregularly by some other people.

Please, this is ridicules and you should give us a break of mind. take people to their farm which they bought with their own money, and stop creating more problems within a problem.
And the Masai community, you should also understand that in this age there is no way you can come together and claim that, that land belongs to you all, this is a big lie, if you say the land was irregularly allocated and it should be returned back to the government, i can support your agenda, but claiming it belongs to you, who give it to you in the first place?

Let us be open with each other and build our country on grounds that cannot be shaken, its the high time we start living positively with one another, telling our children the facts and nothing else but truth. Land can be of no use if we can start looking more into a better education system that will allow our children get good jobs and stop depending on farming and livestock keeping which is the main causes of our land problems and infightings.
With good governance from the counties, the municipalities should have good and well managed cemeteries.
This is because, most Kenyan communities tend to claim that, the farm is a must have so that their family members can be laid to rest in a better place. At the moment this is true due to the pathetic situations of most cemeteries. But i believe with good management this can be a thing of the past.

Its my hope that a better solution of the IDPs resettlement will come, and am looking forward to hear that everyone is back to his/her original farm. This will show a committed government that is able to protect its citizens all over the country.
Adios.
