Kenya in Second Position in current IAAF Placing Order After US

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has now placed Kenya at the second overall position after United States in the just concluded 15th World Athletics Championship held in Beijing, China. This does not mean Kenya is number two in the just concluded world championship in Beijing, no this is the overall standing due to performance and not o winning formula, remembers Kenya won 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals.
In that placing method IAAF gave US 214 points, Kenya 173 points and Jamaica 132 points in the placing table. IAAF placing table works on a formula that looks at factors beyond top positions and considers the number of athletes who finished in the other slots like number 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and such. Therefore, since the US had more athletes in different disciplines than Kenya and other country, which means those countries, did not participate or even qualify, it gained more points in the championship placing order.

Other countries in the top ten placing table are Germany, Great Britain and North Ireland, China, Ethiopia, Poland, Canada and Russia. Kenya and Ethiopia are the only African countries in the table.
In total, 206 countries (or more accurately, IAAF members) participated with a total of 1,933 athletes. The biggest delegation was the one from the USA with 158 athletes while Kenya had 52 athletes and Jamaica had 53. Most of countries had less than 10 athletes. The following is numbers of athletes from countries with more than 10 athletes and more.Kenya had only one athlete in field events, Julius Yego and he won Javelin gold medal, this is the area that US and developed countries harvest more medal.

Kenya Finishes at the top in Beijing Championship

Vivian Cheriyot
On the last day of world championship, Kenya had mixed results. In 1500m men as expected Asbel Kiprop won gold and he was followed by his country man, Elijah Manangoi who won silver in time of 3:34.63, Asbel run 3:34.40 . Abdalaati Iguider from Morocco won bronze at time of 3:34.67.
As expected Ethiopia stole two limelights in 5000m women which for some unknown reason has been a hard nut for Kenyans to find a formular to win this race. In Marathon, Kenya had high hope in Edna Kiplagat but once again Ethiopians were better and Kenya won silver.
Julius Yego
In 1500m men, the tall slende Kenyan runner Asbel Kiprop has joined the league of other 1500m runner, he has done a hat trick like Noureddine Morceli and Hicham El Guerrouji of Morocco .(El-guerrrouji won four straight titles).
I think there was a bit of delay in Asbel finale kicks and this caused Kenya team not to win 1,2,4. If he off kicked earlier i believe Silas Kiplagat would have won the bronze. All said thanks to team Kenya standing tall in this world champion ship and finishing at position one.

Kenya Expects to add Gold Medals 1500m men

Today at 14:55 , Kenya will parend her great runners in 1500, against others runners from all over the world. There are two heats with each heat having 12 runners. From each group, first five will automatically qualify for the finales plus next two fastest . .
Kenya will be represented in both heats. Heat one, the world and Olympic champion Asbel Kiprop will team up with Silas kiplagat and in heat two Timothy Cheruiyot and Elijah Manangoi.
The interesting part of this race is that Asbel is doing wonders in recent months and has a BP of 3:26.69, Silas Kiplagat has a BP 3:27.64, Elijah Managoi has a PB of 3:29.67 and Timothy Cheruiyot has 3:34.86, he is the slowest of all Kenyans. Am seeing a scenario where Kenya will have three runners in the finales and it will be for Kenyans to blame if Gold and silver will will not be pocketed.
This does not mean that there will be no stiff competitions, no Nicholas Wills from Netherlander with a PB of 3:29.66 will be in the picture trying to spoil the party for Kenyans, Aman Wote from Ethiopia with PB of 3:29.91 and Abdalaati Iguider , PB 3:28.79 will also try and be on the podium. One thing clear is that the Kenyans have an advantage has each time this runners tries to go fast, the Kenya team has ability to match it and it will be a no worry race for Kenyans if it goes faster, the worry can be if it goes slow with hopes of finales kicks , this might affect Silas Kiplagat but i believe Asble has learnt his lesson well.
So lets wait and see in the next feminutes what will happen.

Kenya expect to add Gold medals in both Men and Women 800m

This is quite amazing time for Kenyans, even though we are used in winning gold medals in major events, but whenever world championship happens we Kenyans feel we own it and it can be a disaster if for any reason the team comes back with any medals and especially a gold medal in 3000m steeplechase.
Kenya has collected a total of eleven medals, six gold, three silver and two bronze and this is not the end, am seeing at least two more gold if not three in form of Asbel Kiprop 800m, another gold in women 800m by Eunice Sum and some Chance are there for either gold or silver in 5000m.
Asbel has the fastest time this year in 800m and the same with Eunice Sum who will compete against South Caster Semenya. From Morocco, Rababe Arafi will be a force in this race as she has a PB of 2:00.37, Brenda Martinez from US has SB of 1:59.06 and Natalia Lupu from Ukaiane has SB of 1:59.62. But this will not deter Eunice Sum from Kenya who has SB 1:56.99 and for sure to beat her it will a task.

Kenya win 400m Hundles plus 800m

Nicholas Bett
The unthinkable has happened, Kenya has won 400m handles a race not even known by many i Kenya. Nicholas Bett who had PB at 48:29 had no respect to even the great runners from US . In a filed with such names as Michael Tinsley with PB of 47.70 ,
David Rudisha
Kerron Clement with PB of 47:24 , Dennis Kudryavtsev no one even dared think of Bett being any near the top four, but fate and pure determination , Nicholas Bett made sure Kenya is going back to be a power house in sprint races. This is a great moment for Kenya, everyone is talking about Bett.
Bett win was to clear way for David Rudisha adding another gold in his collection. As i had said, , David is recovering and soon he will be back to his usual and who knows, the record might be down again.

Kenya expects to win more medals today in Beijing Championship

Till now Kenya is leading the medal standing with two gold, two silver and two bronze. But this total might change today at 20:35 and 20:55 local time in Beijing when 800m and 1500m(30/08/2015) finales takes place.
David Rudisha
In  800m as i had predicted , David Rudisha is recovering well and  going with what we saw in heats, i still put my money on Rudisha to win the title. Kenya will be represented by three runners lead by David Rudisha, Alfred Kipketer and the man who defeated Rudisha during the Kenya selections, Ferguson Rotich. With Nijel Amos out (current  Diamond league leader) after he failed to qualify in the slow semi-finale race won by Rudisha and World Champion Aman who was disqualified for abstraction, gives the Kenya team a good chance to claim the title. This will happen if the team will be able to do good calculation that will burn the fast finishing kicks of Amel Tuka from Bosia who won heat one in 1:44.48. This was the fastest of all heats.
Asbel Kiprop
In 1500m, Kenya hopes are on shoulders of Asbel Kiprop, who with his current form, it will take a miracle to defeat him. In Monaco he destroyed a strong field of great runners when he run away and finished the race in 3:26.69, everyone will be looking to see how Asbel can can. To assist him will be another great runner in 1500m and also willing to grab the medal from Asbel, Silas Kiplagat. In 2011 world championship in Daegue Silas won silver behind Asbel Kiprop and in Commonwealth games India he won Gold. thus he will be going too for the gold as he has what it takes.
The third member of this team will be Elijah Manangoi , he is very new in team Kenya and especially 1500m as he was trying 400m which he switched before 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The 22 years old Manangoi did not disappoint his couch and he went on to splash Scottish city. Manangoi still remember that moment when he trebled in the changing room at Nyayo stadium, Nairobi for Glasgow selection who included Asbel Kiprop no need to remind you who he is, Olympian Nixon Cheseba, then Commonwealth Games silver medallist James Magut, Diamond
Elijah Manangoi(C)
League speedster Ronald Kwemoi and All African Games silver medallist Collins Cheboi.
Agaist all odds Manangoi went on to finish second to Ronald Kwemoi, this was the new beginning for him, and now he is lining up in Beijing with all his strength fixed for a podium finish.

Vivian Cheruiyot comes back with a Bang and win Gold as kemboi dances again

Vivian Cheruiyot
Kenya won her first gold medal in the on going world championship when the diminutive Vivian Cheruiyot destroyed the strong challenge from Ethiopians and bagged Kenya first gold medal in 10000m .This was Kenya first gold medal before the wonder man, Ezikiel Kemboi lead a 1, 2, 3 ,4 Kenya win in the traditional 3000m.
Ezekiel Kemboi
Vivia was shoulder to shoulder with Ethiopian Gelete Burka who has being on great form since Vivian went on a two year maternty leave. Both atheltic run tactfully until the final bend when Vivain exploded to her usual kicks and finished in time of 31:41.31 followed by Burka in time of 31:41.77, USA Emily Infeld took bronze in time of 31;43.49.
Ezekiel Kemboi run a well organised race with his country men and executed the plan with 200m and to finished in 8:11.28it was a battle between Kenyans with Conseslus Kipruto trying all he can to once snatch the win from Kemboi but it was all impossible, Kipruto took silver and Brimin Kiprop took bronze.

TEJAS HIRANI-Racing star

At only 16 year old Kenyan born Tejas Hirani first got into a go kart when he was just 9 years old. Since then, with Team Magic by his side he has continued to go from strength to strength. Tejas competed in his first championship in 2010 in the 60cc class at the Solai track in Nakuru, Kenya. Through further coaching by Rob and a determination to win Tejas raced within the Team Magic go kart team. With this he quickly took his place as Top rank and moved up to the junior rotax class. Tejas has shown huge potential and has traveled to both the UK and UAE to prove himself as a serious contender.

2012 - Tejas took part in the Cross Country, and Rally Raids locally in Kenya. Using the Magibug he has successfully completed and won the buggy class. Teamed up with Riyaz Ismail as his navigator the duo were the ones to beat whilst up against certain winners like Ian Duncan, Mike Hughes, and Alex Gibbs. 2013 looked like an even more exciting year for Tejas as the arrival of his new racing machine - the Rage buggy imported from the UK, built to bespoke specifications, and providing more power Tejas is set for even greater things as and participated to protect the title. Riyaz and Tejas retained their Rally Raid Buggy Title 2013, and Tejas made it a hatrick with the Auto X Championship - Non Turbo Buggy category and the Kenya Karting Championship - Junior Rotax category.
In addition:

Tejas had passed the Formula BMW Rookie Test and been offered a place by Formula BMW to attend the Academy 2014 - we are currently seeking sponsorship to enable him to take up this amazing opportunity. This could be the beginning of something big and his chance at entering into the international circuit. Tejas was chosen to represent Kenya in the FIA Africa selection event in South Africa....... and finished as a runner up.

In December 2013 Tejas was awarded the "SOYA" Sports Personality of the Year 2013 for the Boys Category.... that was a huge honor.
ON 22/08/2015 he was in Naivasha to show his skills where i met him .

Genzebe Dibaba Post fastest time ever in 1500m Heats

Genzebe Dibaba
One month after she posted the fastest 1500m in history, Genzebe Dibaba did not disappoint at Beijing campaign as she clocked the fastest 1500m heat time ever at the IAAF World Championships. The Ethiopian went in the third and final heat, wich Kenyan  Faith Kipyegon who is commonwealth champion was, Dibaba  made her move with one lap remaining followed closely by Kipyegon, she covered the final 300m in 44.31 and eventually crossed the line in 4:02.59, the fastest ever 1500m time outside of a final at the IAAF World Championships. Kipyegon was close behind in 4:02.77 while Morocco’s Rababe Arafi was further back in third, clocking 4:04.17. Maureen Koster, Amela Terzic and Laura Weightman were the other automatic qualifiers from that heat, but Gega eventually faded to 10th and missed out on progressing.
Faith Kipyegon
European champion Sifan Hassan won the second heat. Russia’s 2003 world champion Tatyana Tomashova built up a huge lead – not that she was going at a particularly fast pace; it was more that no one was willing to go with her – which she maintained until the final lap. But the rest of the field were gaining on her with Hassan, Dawit Seyaum and defending champion Abeba Aregawi finally catching Tomashova before the line.
Hassan won in 4:09.52 with Seyaum a stride behind in 4:09.64. Aregawi clocked 4:10.77, just 0.02 in front of Tomashova, with 2011 world champion Jenny Simpson and Poland’s Angelika Cichocka also progressing by right.
Rababe Arafi
The first heat was a lot closer throughout. Colombia’s Pan American Games champion Muriel Coneo led the field during the early stages with the rest of the field bunched up close behind. With a lap to go, Kenya’s Nancy Chepkwemoi and Britain’s Laura Muir had made their way through the pack.
Muir and Chepkwemoi were still leading coming into the home straight, but Ethiopian teenager Besu Sado came through in the closing stages to take the win in 4:05.39, her second-fastest time to date.

Just half a second covered the top nine places. Muir finished second, just ahead of Chepkwemoi and US record-holder Shannon Rowbury. Betlhem Desalegn and Anna Shchagina were the other automatic qualifiers, while Coneo was rewarded for her early front-running with a national record of 4:08.31 and a non-automatic qualifying spot.

Ghirmay Ghebreslassie win Marathon Title in Beijing

In the end it was the day of Ghirmay Ghebreslassie. The young star won Eritrea’s first World Championships gold medal, taking the men’s marathon title on a day when more favoured runners from Kenya and Ethiopia were on pared for the title.
Ghirmay Ghebreslassie
Ghebreselassie is just 19 years old. His country is scarcely any older, having gained independence only in 1993. To date its most famous runner has been Zersenay Tadese, silver medallist behind Kenenisa Bekele in the 10,000m at the 2009 World Championships.
It was a very bad day for Kenya runners, lead by Dennis Kimetto, Wilson Kipasang and Mark Korir could not match the skills and pace set up by Eritrea runner.Ghirmay finished in 2:12.28 followed by Yemane Tsegay from Ethiopia in 2:13.08 and Solomon Munyo Mutai from Uganda in 2:13.30.
World record-holder Kimetto was never a factor, anonymous in the large pack until just past half-way, out of contention soon after that. Kipsang, his predecessor as world record-holder, stayed relaxed in the pack through 30km, but was likewise gone once the final racing started.
Kiprotich finished sixth, one place ahead of Desisa, the two retaining the same order as in Moscow two years ago, but five places back on their one-two finish then.

Solomon Mutai
This was a bad start for Kenya but let’s waits and sees if the team will recover in women marathon.
