This is quite amazing time for Kenyans, even though we are used in winning gold medals in major events, but whenever world championship happens we Kenyans feel we own it and it can be a disaster if for any reason the team comes back with any medals and especially a gold medal in 3000m steeplechase.
Kenya has collected a total of eleven medals, six gold, three silver and two bronze and this is not the end, am seeing at least two more gold if not three in form of Asbel Kiprop 800m, another gold in women 800m by Eunice Sum and some Chance are there for either gold or silver in 5000m.
Asbel has the fastest time this year in 800m and the same with Eunice Sum who will compete against South Caster Semenya. From Morocco, Rababe Arafi will be a force in this race as she has a PB of 2:00.37, Brenda Martinez from US has SB of 1:59.06 and Natalia Lupu from Ukaiane has SB of 1:59.62. But this will not deter Eunice Sum from Kenya who has SB 1:56.99 and for sure to beat her it will a task.
