Kenya Finishes at the top in Beijing Championship

Vivian Cheriyot
On the last day of world championship, Kenya had mixed results. In 1500m men as expected Asbel Kiprop won gold and he was followed by his country man, Elijah Manangoi who won silver in time of 3:34.63, Asbel run 3:34.40 . Abdalaati Iguider from Morocco won bronze at time of 3:34.67.
As expected Ethiopia stole two limelights in 5000m women which for some unknown reason has been a hard nut for Kenyans to find a formular to win this race. In Marathon, Kenya had high hope in Edna Kiplagat but once again Ethiopians were better and Kenya won silver.

In 1500m men, the tall slende Kenyan runner Asbel Kiprop has joined the league of other 1500m runner, he has done a hat trick like Noureddine Morceli and Hicham El Guerrouji of Morocco .(El-guerrrouji won four straight titles).
I think there was a bit of delay in Asbel finale kicks and this caused Kenya team not to win 1,2,4. If he off kicked earlier i believe Silas Kiplagat would have won the bronze. All said thanks to team Kenya standing tall in this world champion ship and finishing at position one.
