Ezekiel Kemboi

Jairus Birech
Kenya dominance in 3000m steeplechase has no other equal and it has been like a Kenyan affair, either at Olympics, grand prix or world championship, Kenya has rule this event for over four decades.Since 2007, in world championships Kenya has won more than one medal in this race, and to make it very interesting one man Ezekiel Kemboi has won three time since then,Brimin Kipruto was the winner in 2007. This same year, Ezekiel Kemboi won silver and Ricahard Mateelong won bronze to make it a Kenyan affair.
Rosefline Chepngetich
Virginia Nyambura
In 2009 Ezkiel Kemboi changed the rules and he won followed by Richard Mateelong and the party was spoiled by Bouabdellah Tahri from France won took the bronze. Ezekiel Kemboi continued to rule the distance with wonderful performance winning in Daegu(20110,), Moscow in 2013 with sliver going to Brimin Kipruto (2011) and a new entrant Conseslus Kipruto took silver in Moscow. Once again France spoiled the party for Kenyans as Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad took
bronze in Daegu and Moscow.
Conseslus Kipruto man to watch
In this years championship, Kenya has sent a strong team in both events of men and women. The team is lead by the flaboyant Ezkile Kemboi as the defending champion, he got a wild card in Nairobi as he finished at position four at the selection trials. he will be assisted by the winner of Kenya selection Jairus Birech , Conseslus Kipruto who has vowed to bring the elusive gold medal from him back home and Brimin Kipruto. All of names are wll known in world of atheltee and anyone of the can and has ability to snatch the gold medal, am seeing a 1-2-3 finish this time around.
The defending champion Milcah Chemos from Kenya Cheywa will not defend her title due to back injuries she is nursing. That means Rosefline Chepngetich Hyvin jepkemoi and Virginia Nyambura will carry the heavy burden of bringing back the gold medal
Rosefline Chepngetich run 9:35.75 in Nairobi to win the selection which is a good progress from what she did in Eugene where she run 9:40.28. She will be leading another wonder girl Virginia Nyambura
